PointGuard’s platform promotes energy efficiency and is one of a select few that qualify for cost-share incentives for any RTEM projects.

January 9, 2020 - CHARLOTTE, North Carolina - PointGuard, a cloud-based platform for commercial buildings that uses BMS data to drive value, increase occupant comfort, and lower operating and capital costs, has been named a New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) Qualified Vendor for the Real-Time Energy Management (RTEM) program. In an effort to develop a less polluting and more reliable and affordable energy system for all New Yorkers, NYSERDA offers a 30 percent cost-share incentive for building owners to deploy energy management solutions, such as PointGuard’s platform.

“Being part of the NYSERDA RTEM program is validation that PointGuard’s platform makes a significant difference in the improved operation and performance of buildings,” said Shannon Smith, CEO of PointGuard. “By quickly identifying energy savings opportunities, PointGuard is able to not only save money in building operations and capital costs but can make a substantial dent in the energy used by city buildings. We’re excited to be approved by NYSERDA and look forward to working with more New York City-based buildings.”

PointGuard’s mission is to provide commercial solutions for planetary problems by improving the performance of the built environment. Similar to the mission of NYSERDA, PointGuard approaches energy challenges through analytics of energy data which reveal opportunities for positive change. The Pointguard platform transforms temporary work orders and to-do lists into long-lasting benefits and permanent profit.
